A vintage Cava that is a blend of mainly Chardonnay woth the traditional local varieties Parellada, Macabeo and Xarel-lo. Named in honour of the Regent Queen Maria Cristina of Austria, who in 1870 granted Codorniu with the title of 'Official Provider of the Royal House'. Fresh, light with delicately rounded and well-balanced flavours.
A small amount of the Chardonnay is barrel fermented, before Traditional Method production with second fermentation in bottle, then maturation for 18 to 24 months before release.
